Four Capillary ViscometerViscotek's patented 4-capillary differential viscometer provides a direct measurement of intrinsic viscosity and allows for the determination of molecular size, conformation and structure.

Dr. Max Haney - President of Viscotek Corp. - is the inventor of the four capillary differential viscometer detector. Viscotek remain the world-wide leaders in 4-capilliary differential viscometer design.

  • Maximum Flow Rate: 1.5 ml/min (H2O); 3.0 ml/min (THF)

In 1982 Max Haney conceived the 4-capillary viscometer and asked a friend to conduct a market survey. Twenty leading GPC chromatographers were asked if they had need of a viscometer detector. All 20 said no. Max founded Viscotek anyway and discovered what inventors through the ages have known: A good invention creates its own market. This is the guiding philosophy of our founder and is ingrained in the corporate culture.
