Our technologies are employed in academic, industrial, biopharmaceutical and government accounts throughout the world in a tremendously broad range of applications including natural polymers such as polysaccharides and cellulosics; synthetic polymers such as adhesives, epoxies and plastics; and biopolymers such as proteins and protein conjugates.

Our application Notes describe the characterization of natural and synthetic polymers and biopolymers by Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), Flow Injection Polymer Analysis (FIPA) and Dilute Solution Viscosity (DSV).

  • GPC/SEC application notes explain the use of concentration, viscometer and light scattering detectors to obtain a distribution of absolute molecular weight, size and intrinsic viscosity, as well as information on conformation, aggregation, branching and copolymer composition.
  • Flow Injection Polymer Analysis (FIPA) application notes describe how advanced detector technology is employed in the QA/QC and Process control laboratory to obtain a fast, accurate and precise molecular weight, size and intrinsic viscosity in 3-5 minutes without the need for elaborate sample preparation.
  • Dilute Solution Viscosity (DSV) application notes explain the use and advantages of the Viscotek Relative Viscometer as a preferred alternative to glass capillary tubes for the determination of relative, intrinsic, inherent, reduced and absolute viscosities of dilute polymer and protein solutions.
